Artist duo Junya Kataoka + Rie Iwatake is participating in the group exhibition “MOT Annual 2020 Invisible Powers” from November 14, 2020 through February 14, 2021 at Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. ​

As the 16th edition of “MOT Annual,” this exhibition will put its focus on invisible powers in nature and society such as gravity, magnetic attraction, human consciousness, and emotions through artworks by four artists and an artist duo who attempt to reconstruct the mechanisms behind such powers. The exhibition will run through Sunday, February 14th, 2021.​

Despite its 12 years of consecutive participation in Paris Photo, the world's largest photography fair, the independent photobook label "M" and its platform "bookshop M" cannot participate this year, due to the ongoing global pandemic. ​Therefore, they have decided to relocate the fair from Paris to Tokyo, Daikanyama, and will showcase a special group show at Daikanyama T-Site. ​

Ai Iwane will also participate in this fair with her newly released book "A NEW RIVER," and will exhibit a new print from the series, alongside major photographers including Daido Moriyama, Katsumi Omori, and Sakiko Nomura. ​We look forward to how the gallery wall will be looking like. Please do not miss this special exhibition! ​

11月9日から1週間限定で、代官山 蔦屋書店で開催されるインディペンデント写真集レーベル「M」と、そのためのプラットフォーム「bookshop M」が企画するフェア『M, Through the Pandemic』に、岩根愛さんが参加いたします。12年連続にて世界最大のフォトフェア「パリフォト」に出展してきた「bookshop M」ですが、パンデミックの影響で残念ながら開催そのものが中止になりました。そこで、会場をパリ（グラン・パレ）から代官山（代官山 蔦屋書店）に変更してのフェアの開催とのことです。​

ギャラリースペースでの展示では、東京都写真美術館「あしたのひかり：日本の新進作家 vol.17」でも大きな話題を呼んだ新作〈あたらしい川〉よりニュープリントを1点、森山大道さん、大森克巳さん、野村佐紀子さん等のプリントと共に、グループショウ形式にてご覧いただけます。​

Akira Fujimoto’s long term art project “SONO AIDA #Yurakucho” will be launched in collaboration with Mitsubishi Estate in Yurakucho area, Tokyo on Friday, August 21st, 2020. Collaborating with architect Yuko Nagayama, this project will explore the new potential by bringing the unusual cityscapes into the biggest business center in Japan.

 

The project will kick off with the pop-up exhibition “2●21×ANREALAGE” will be presented at Kokusai Building until Sunday, September 6th. This exhibition will showcase collaborative work between “2021,” the other art project Fujimoto has been working on for a long term to question the future after Tokyo Olympic Games, and the fashion brand “ANREALAGE” led by fashion designer Kunihiko Morinaga.

8月21日（金）より、藤元明が三菱地所とのコラボレーションによるアートプロジェクト「ソノ アイダ＃有楽町」を開始いたします。これまで藤元が長期的に取り組んできたプロジェクト「ソノ アイダ」の一環として、有楽町を舞台に開催されます。今回は建築家・永山祐子氏が加わり、日本のビジネスセンターである大丸有（大手町・丸の内・有楽町）エリアの可能性を探り、街に異質感をもたらす長期的なプロジェクトとなります。 

 

今回プロジェクトの第1弾として、藤元による東京オリンピック以後の未来を問うアートプロジェクト「2021」と、ファッションデザイナー森永邦彦が率いるファッションブランド「ANREALAGE（アンリアレイジ）」とのコラボレーション・ポップアップ展示「2●21×ANREALAGE」を丸の内仲通りに面するオフィスビル・国際ビルヂングにて開催いたします（～9月6日）。

東京都写真美術館・中村浩美さんとの対談では、日本人特有の家への価値観（奈良時代以前から災害とともに生きてきたこと／「穢れ」について）、ポートレート写真について（顔への強烈な意識）、タイポロジー写真について、中村さんのアウグスト・ザンダー論、岡倉天心が語る知られざる日本人の家への意識の歴史など、非常に読み応えのある内容です。「View Details」よりぜひご覧ください。

Due to the extension of the state of emergency in Tokyo, we have arranged an online exhibition platform for our current exhibition Aperture—Penetrating a Gaze by Toshihiro Komatsu, to allow our guests to safely enjoy the exhibition at home.

The exhibition features two series by Komatsu, SCOPE and CT, and is the very first occasion Komatsu's works are introduced by a commercial gallery in Japan. While the online presentation allows viewers to enjoy the installation virtually, we are also accepting viewers by appointment. (Car parking is available right in front of the gallery, and we also have stocks of surgical face-masks available upon request.) 

We look forward to welcoming our guests in secure and comfortable circumstances. We hope you enjoy the online presentation of Komatsu's works. Stay home, stay inspired!

Ryoichi Fujisaki was selected as one of the finalists at “sanwacompany Art Award / Art in The House 2020.” His presentation including works from the sculpture series Meltism and the photographic series colored oil is currently on view at sanwacompany’s showroom (Tokyo) until Wednesday, April 1st, 2020.
